DISCLOSURE ADDENDUM 2014-15  

Art Foundations I & II, Ceramics, & Drawing / Mrs. Burton

Come with a great work ethic and positive attitude and we’ll delve into the wonderful world of art and ceramics.

 

1.  Field Trip / Chalk-the-Walk:

  1. If we have a field trip, no student with a citizenship grade of “U” will be able to participate.
  2. Chalk-the-Walk takes place in May.  Students must have an “H” for citizenship in art class to participate in the Chalk-the-Walk.

 

2.  Extra- Credit Gallery visit / Weekly Sketchbook assignment

  1. All art students have the out-of-class assignment option of visiting an art gallery, art museum or art show.  They will write a one-page paper on what they saw, learned and experienced.  This is to earn extra credit.
  2. Art Foundations 1 and 2 and Drawing classes will have a weekly out-of-class sketchbook assignment. They will be expected to draw each week in their sketchbooks on an assigned topic.

 

3.  Make sure you have a regular pencil and your sketchbook in class everyday.

4.  Mark your name in permanent marker on all your art supplies including your sketchbook.

 

5.  Supplies / Fees:

There is no fee for Art 1, Art 2, and Drawing.  There are online coupons for Hobby Lobby and Michael’s!  Remember that you can use most of the same supplies when you take another art class and for making life-long art!

Supplies needed forArt Foundations 1:

  1. Sketchbook:  50+ pages, white paper, about 9X12 inches, spiralbound
  2. 5-10 regular pencils (always have a pencil in class)
  3. 1 shading pencil (soft lead = 4-8B)
  4. Eraser(s) (including a kneaded eraser)
  5. Ruler (clear plastic)
  6. Pencil sharpener that catches the shavings
  7. A 3 prong pocket folder for handouts
  8. 2 Sharpie or Bic black markers – 1 ultra-fine and 1 fine
  9. 1 large needle with a large eye and blunt tip
  10. Oil pastels (set of 12, or larger if you would like)
  11. Prismacolor Colored Pencils – soft lead not Verithin (Optional)
  12. Crayola Markers (set of 8 or 10 – Optional)

  1. Sketchbook:  50+ pages, white paper, about 9X12 inches, spiralbound
  2. 5-10 regular pencils

  5. Ruler (clear is helpful for students)
  6. Pencil sharpener that catches the shavings
  7. A paper 3 prong pocket folder for handouts
  8. 1 Sharpie or Bic ultra-fine black marker
  9. 1 Sharpie or Bic fine black marker
  10. Prismacolor Colored Pencils – soft lead (NOT Verithin)

 

Supplies Needed for Drawing:

  1. Sketchbook:  50+ pages, white paper, about 9X12 inches, spiralbound
  2. Small Sketch Pencil Set
  3. General’s “Getting Started with Charcoal” small set (includes charcoal pencils and sticks)
  4. Erasers (including kneaded eraser)
  5. Pencil sharpener.
  6. Ruler (clear)
  7. 2 Sharpie or Bic ultra-fine black markers
  8. Prismacolor Colored Pencils – soft lead (NOT Verithin)
  9. A paper 3 prong pocket folder for handouts

 

Supplies Needed & Fee for Ceramics only:

  1. A $10.00 fee should be paid in the main office the first week of school.  Bring the white receipt to Mrs. Burton!
  2. Bring a paper 3-prong pocket folder and pencil to keep in class.
